Obituary for Lloyd Norman ROGERS Sr.

Lloyd Norman Rogers Sr. passed away December 17, 2011 in Lake Havasu City, AZ at the age of 89. He was born on July 11, 1922 in Antlers, OK.

Lloyd served proudly under the direction of the United States Marines from 1941 to 1945; serving at the Guada Canal, New Zealand and was at the Battle of Iwo Jima. He also trained the Women’s Army. He was a member of the VFW, the Elks Lodge 1713 and the United States Marine Corps.

Lloyd married his beloved bride, Ellen Maxine Brown on December 12, 1972.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 39 years, Maxine; sons, Lloyd Norman Rogers Jr. and his wife Corkee and William Arnold Ferrin; daughters, Diana Kay Fox and her husband Butch and Annabelle Christensen and her husband Bob; brothers, James Rogers and Wayland Rogers; one sister, Tishia Moler; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, son, Carl James Rogers, granddaughter, Radawn Ferrin, three sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2011, 11:00 AM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Pastor Chad Garrison will offer words of comfort and inspiration. The VFW Post 9401 and American Legion Post 81 will conduct military honors.
