Obituary for David Lee Vander Bie

DAVID LEE VANDER BIE
David Lee Vander Bie, 75, was transported peacefully from his earthly tent to his Heavenly home on Thursday, December 19, 2013 with his family at his side at the Polidori Hospice House.
David was born in Holland, Michigan to Evelyn and Harold Vander Bie. He is survived by his beloved wife Helene; three daughters, Pamela Joy Bertrand (Mark) of Tucson, Arizona, Michelle Rene DeLange (David) of Bozeman, Montana and Lesa Shawn Vander Bie of Corona Del Mar, California; grandsons, David of Bozeman, Montana, Bradley of Bend, Oregon, Westen of Tucson, Arizona and Garret of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister Patricia Fortney; brother-in-laws, Dale Nyboer and his wife Bertha of Lake Havasu and Carl Nyboer and his wife Ruth of Oceanside, California and many nieces and nephews.
David and his wife Helene were married in October, 1956 in San Diego, California where he served in the U.S. Navy. They moved to Lake Havasu City from Michigan with their three daughters in 1969. David will be deeply missed by many people in the community as he will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor as well as being a man of high integrity. He was always ready to share his testimony of faith and love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
David was a professional trim carpenter known for his distinguishing high quality of workmanship as a professional trim carpenter. Over his 44 years in Lake Havasu, he worked on numerous homes as the population grew. In 2003, David was selected as American Worker of the Year for the State of Arizona.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Lake Havasu Baptist Church, 2101 North Palo Verde Blvd, Lake Havasu City, AZ on December 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM
The Vander Bie family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Havasu and all the loving caregivers at the Polidori House.
In lieu of flowers they request that donations be made in David’s name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.
